The Wine
In the heyday of barge-transported wine, Quai Tarbarka was the main port. It was situated in the Étang du Thau – a confluence of canals on the Med and a hub of trading activity. Barrels would arrive from all over southern France by canal, and merchants would taste, blend and buy the best wines to sell abroad. Today, our winemaker, Mark Hoddy, is doing the same thing, finding and blending the best Languedoc wines from each vintage. But instead of them being in one location, Mark is out there discovering new finds. So, wine lovers can be sure that a bottle labelled Tabarka holds an authentic, great-value Midi wine. This is a fine Corbières, crafted from Carignan, Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre. A great red for a grilled meats or a barbecue.
