From one of South Africa's oldest wineries, 21 Gables is a dashing white. It uses the Cape's top white grape grown close to the Atlantic and balances superb lemony intensity with creamy roundness. No wonder it was awarded three Golds and 5 Stars.

The Wine
One of South Africa’s oldest wineries and a well-known Cape landmark, Spier is still family-owned three centuries since its establishment in 1692. Their rich, complex 21 Gables Chenin Blanc has been crafted with grapes handpicked from a single vineyard in the Tygerberg region, just north of Cape Town (just 15km from the ocean). Barrel-fermented and matured for 14 months in French oak, the result is a rich, well balanced Chenin Blanc with excellent ageing potential – full of dried apricot and ripe tropical fruit, with an oaky vanilla creaminess. From the first sip you'll see why the 2016 received the prestigious IWSC Best Chenin Blanc Trophy and the 2019 a trio of Golds. This intensely lemony, gently oaked Chenin is ideal with salmon.
