The Spirit
With Vicky McQueen a former chef and master baker and Dale McQueen a mechanical engineer, maybe it should be no surprise that they have won Trophies and Golds for their gins and their packaging! Their headquarters is in Callander in central Scotland, but they scour the world for their botanicals, using Bulgarian juniper, grapefruit, lime, vanilla and Grains of Paradise (like peppercorn but with a gingery fire). They make some exotic flavours (like white chocolate and raspberry) but this is their original and most pure. All the distillation is small batch and hand bottled, with each bottle hand dipped in wax to seal. Refreshingly juniper led with hints of pine forests, it has a creamy vanilla undertow with a hint of spice and crisp lime.
