There is just the right balance of ripe berry notes and oaky richness. It’s the work of brothers David and Victor Manzanos, who learned to make fine Rioja from their father. When he died, the boys, still in their early 20s, quickly stepped up to the mark and have taken quality even higher. This supple Tempranillo uses well ripened grapes from the family’s highest vineyards, while the wine was aged for six months in French oak, then bottled. From a quality vintage enhanced by the brothers’ expertise, this tasty, silky Tempranillo is spot on as a tasty glass solo or with tapas, paella, or vegetable kebabs.
