Janna de Mare Alghero Torbato 2022
Alghero DOC

From a small family winery near Alghero, on Sardinia's northwest coast, this is a racy-fresh, lemon and blossom white. It's made entirely from Sardinia's native Torbato grape, which was revived at the estate in the 1960s. Delightful, crisp and fresh.
We're sorry, this wine is sold out.
But don't worry, you'll find plenty more handpicked wines here.

The Wine
Janna de Mare – door to the sea – lies on Sardinia's northwest coast. It's a wine estate inspired by Luigi Parpinello from the Veneto, the first generation, but founded by his son, Giampaolo. Giampaolo had a passion for wine like his father, so studied it at one of northern Italy's top schools. His first proper winemaking job was in 1964 in Sardinia and he has never left. In 1990, he bought his first vines, near Alghero, invited the whole family to join the project, and called it Janna de Mare. They now have 35 hectares of vines in three locations, a third of those in the original Janna de Mare, along with a modern winery. All native Torbato, gently cool fermented, this is a crisp, dry white, with racy citrus and gentle blossom notes.
