A special cuvée of Sauvignon to celebrate our 50 years, from a family winery we’ve been working with for three decades. It uses the best Sauvignon grapes of the vintage, lees aged to lend creamy weight to the intense citrusy freshness.
We're sorry, this wine is sold out.
But don't worry, you'll find plenty more handpicked wines here.

The Wine
We’ve been working with Hunter’s since 1986, when their Sauvignon won 'Wine of the Show’ at our Vintage Festival. The style was unheard of then, but customers loved it. Marlborough Sauvignon was launched on the world stage. 30 years on, the founders’ nephew James Macdonald is head of winemaking. He was thrilled when we asked him to make us a 50th anniversary wine: “Tony Laithwaite was one of the first to realise the potential of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc and has been a great supporter ever since.” He used the best fruit from the season, fermenting a tiny portion in large oak barrels, then lees ageing it all for 8 months before bottling. “We hope it reminds Tony of tasting our exciting Marlborough wines back in the early days,” said James.
