Grande Réserve de Gassac Rouge 2021
Pays d'Hérault IGP

The Grand Vin from the highly acclaimed Daumas Gassac estate costs around £30 but, thanks to our long friendship, Samuel Guibert has created this Réserve edition for our customers. Very much in the style of the top wine, but at an affordable price.
We're sorry, this wine is sold out.
But don't worry, you'll find plenty more handpicked wines here.

The Wine
A unique red combining southern French richness with the class of a Cru Classé claret. It is from one of the star estates of the Languedoc, Daumas Gassac, which was founded by Aimé and Véronique Guibert, former glovemakers to royalty and friends of Bordeaux geography professor Henri Enjalbert. Visiting the property, Henri was bowled over by the quality of the terroir, formed over thousands of years by slowly shifting glaciers and so began the Guibert adventure with wine. The soil is so well drained that the vine roots must grow deep down to find nourishment and moisture, promoting unique aromas and flavours in the grapes. A great alternative to their pricy Grand Vin, this rich, ripe red is superb with garlicky lamb or hearty casseroles.
