The Wine
Owner of the vineyard for this supple, berry-rich red is Arthur Gourdon. He’s from a family we’ve been working with since the early 1990s. His dad, Vincent, was the original winemaker for the now legendary black red, Le XV du Président. Arthur is proud of his Languedoc vineyard that was first planted by his great great grandmother, Victoire. At its centre, she built a fontain, after which this delightful red is named. The plot lies just outside Béziers, close to the Roman fortified town, Les Ensérunes, Winemaker for Font del Victoire is Nicole McPheeters – an American, who has made southern France her home. Impressed by the grapes from Arthur’s vineyard, she bagged them for this berry and tobacco-scented red. Very versatile with food too.
