Domaine Le Bac Corbieres 2021
Corbières AOC
Loading...
Our Languedoc buyer, Mark Hoddy, was in Corbières's Fabrezan cellar, tasting through the vintage. One white stood way out, so good, in fact, he insisted on visiting the grower. The upshot is this glorious, rich oaked white with ripe peach freshness.
We're sorry, this wine is sold out.
But don't worry, you'll find plenty more handpicked wines here.

The Wine
Fabrezan is a top spot of Corbières, right next door to its Boutenac cru and close to the beautiful Alaric mountains. Our buyer had visited the area and been impressed by the wines at the local cellar. It uses grapes from the many nearby growers and when a rich white really stood out, Mark asked where the grapes were from. He insisted on visiting the grower, 4th-generation Roger Dupont, and fell in love with his small 2-hectare plot on the slopes of Mont d'Alaric. Roger grows Roussanne, Grenache Blanc and Marsanne – the same white grapes, in fact, as Châteauneuf Blanc. Mark watched it through 2020, then 2021, and persuaded the cellar to let him oak ferment and lees age the wine. The prize was this rare, ripe peach and mineral-zipped white.
