The Wine
We've known the team at Santa Julia for years. Their wines always impress. Owner, Jose Zuccardi is a pioneer of Argentine wine and his son, Sebastian, is considered one of the best winemakers in Argentina. Working with them for many, many years is Ruben Ruffo. He's the quality obsessed, detail focused talent behind this wine. This gorgeous Malbec is a new addition to their range. It's made from the very best grapes in their Santa Julia estate, as well as some from the Valle de Uco. Handpicked, with some ageing in barrels, this wine is generously packed with fruit, with complexity and sweet spice from the oak. There's also a certain delicious meaty quality here, to be expected from a great Argentinian red. A perfect match with steak.
