Here’s the perfect wine for anyone who adores premium Aussie Shiraz and a decent bargain. It’s from an excellent quality, eco-focused cellar in the Barossa. They work closely with exceptional growers throughout South Australia to source parcels of top-quality grapes. For this wine, that was the McLaren Vale, Coonawarra and Langhorne Creek – a hat trick of premium regions. It’s a gorgeous, velvety red, part oak aged to lend a rich seam of toasty spice and vanilla to the dense, ripe black fruit. Bold in aroma, seductive in texture, rich in fruit and deep in flavour. A terrific, well-priced Shiraz, delicious now but with the class and structure to age too. Ideally decant early and pair with roast red meats or a warming casserole.
