Château Puech-Haut Cante Lebre 2016
Without doubt, Gérard Bru's Château Puech-Haut produces some of the Languedoc's finest wines. His Cante Lebre is a masterpiece of Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre, from big pebble soils and mature vines. All fruit, no oak, it's rich, dark and sleek.
We're sorry, this wine is sold out.

But don't worry, you'll find plenty more handpicked wines here.

The Wine
Château Puech-Haut is the prized property of Gérard Bru, a passionate champion of the Languedoc. He founded it in 1980 on terroir that so impressed him, he grubbed up the olive trees and planted vines. These vineyards are exceptional, with clay and limestone soils, topped by large galet stones (like Châteauneuf-du-Pape. That and the warm Mediterranean climate results in a very luscious style. He has employed top-name consultants from the start – first Bordeaux's Michel Rolland, now Philippe Cambie. He also boasts the largest barrel in the world – so big there's a shop inside! Critic Andrew Jefford called Gérard Bru "a dark horse", whose grandfather used to swap wine for potatoes. Using all native grapes, Cante Lebre is rich, pure and long.
