Château Lalande-Borie 2014
Saint-Julien AOC
Loading...
Saint-Julien produces some of the most delightful wines of the Haut-Médoc. They share the best qualities of neighbours Pauillac and Margaux – structure and elegance. Lalande Borie 2014 is a fine classic claret, enjoyable too for its impressive value.

The Wine
Lalande-Borie is owned by the renowned Borie family, whose flagship estate is the Second Growth Château Ducru Beaucaillou. Relatively new for a Médoc estate, it was created when the family bought 18 hectares of vines from Château Lagrange in 1970 and another 12 hectares from other growers. These fine vineyards have gravel and clay soils, which is why the wine has a high proportion of Merlot. The wine is aged in French oak barrels (25% new) for 12 months. Coming from the 2014 vintage, this is a pleasingly classic style and, with six years' maturity, a treat to enjoy. Serve at room temperature with most meats, from veal and chicken to beef or lamb. It will go beautifully with game and mushroom dishes too as it reaches full maturity.
