Chapel Down Kit's Coty Bacchus 2017
Kent

Chapel Down estate in Kent was one of the first to prove to us just how good English sparkling wines could be. Their still wines are equally classy. Here is a luscious, tropical fruit white, starring Bacchus, with a creamy edge from ageing in wood.
We're sorry, this wine is sold out.
But don't worry, you'll find plenty more handpicked wines here.

The Wine
Chapel Down was one of the first on the UK winemaking scene and today is one of the best. Critic Matthew Jukes wrote of them: “Chapel Down has always been a hero winery in the UK and I am constantly amazed at the diversity and excellence.” Customers include Downing Street, top chefs such as Gordon Ramsay, the Royal Opera House and many more. They delight us with their superb sparkling wines and also fine table wines, which range from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir to this ripe Bacchus. The grapes are from Kit’s Coty vineyard on Kent’s North Downs, a south-facing site with chalk soils – the perfect terroir for lovely, concentrated flavour. Wild yeast fermentation in barrel lends creamy notes to the fruit. Try with spicy crab salad or risotto.
