Roederer is one of Champagne’s Grandes Marques and their Brut Premier has received high praise, and been a celebratory essential, for more than a century. As Jancis Robinson MW notes, it really is “deliciously superior”. The Roederer family sources most of its grapes from 200 hectares of Premier and Grand Cru vineyards and the wine is aged for a minimum of three and a half years before release, which really adds to the richness and complexity. “There is layer upon layer of flavour to be found in this well-made non-vintage bubbly. Honey, almonds and chocolate-biscuit overtones accompany the juicy pear and apple fruit” (Sunday Express).
