The Wine
Boschendal estate wins scores of medals, trophies and top marks every year. Founded 330 years ago, this historic property lies between Franschhoek and Stellenbosch. Careful restoration over the last decade has made it terrific place to search out great wine. Flora and fauna conservation is a priority as well. The team take great care in finding the best sites for each grape, hence their Appellation Series. For Pinot Noir, that's cool-climate Elgin which produces some of the finest Burgundy-style wines in the world. The grapes for this red are from some of region's highest vineyards, hence its superb intensity and finesse. Wild yeast fermented and aged a year in French oak, it brims with lush berry fruit, with floral and spice complexity.
