The Wine
When Angelo Piccini bought a small Tuscan vineyard in 1882, it was the start of something great. Today that vineyard has grown into a very successful estate, run by fourth generation Mario Piccini. They’re among the most dynamic and forward thinking producers in northern Italy, promoting organic and sustainable farming on all their vineyards. The family make this from the fruit of vines located between Siena and Florence. They use mostly Sangiovese – the great grape of Chianti – with its distinct tangy cherry flavours. Food-friendly freshness and bite are classic to Chianti too, and you’ll find that in this easy drinking release. Enjoy it with Italian dishes like spaghetti Bolognese or the classic aubergine dish, melanzane parmigiana.
