Stéphane Ogier Le Temps Est Venu Côtes du Rhône 2019
Côtes du Rhône AOC
Loading...
From a top Côte Rôtie winemaker comes this fine Rhône red. Wine Advocate calls it “a no-brainer purchase”. The family used to sell all their grapes to Chapoutier and Guigal. Now Stéphane Ogier crafts “a bevy of brilliant wines” (WA) at his cellar.
We're sorry, this wine is sold out.
But don't worry, you'll find plenty more handpicked wines here.

The Wine
Wine Spectator described Stéphane Ogier’s wines as “dynamic and elite”, while Wine Advocate wrote “the estate is unquestionably in the top handful of domaines in the Rhône Valley”. The family used to grow apricots, then fortuitously changed to grapes. Such was the quality that, until 1982, they sold all their grapes to top estates Guigal and Chapoutier. After two vintages in Stellenbosch, Stéphane took over from his father in the late 1990s, added extensively to the vineyards (he owns 10 hectares in Côte Rôtie, Condrieu and Saint Joseph) and built himself a gleaming, modern cellar. Terroir is his raison d’être. Using Grenache and Syrah from Plan de Dieu and Visan vineyards, this is a fine, spicy, rich fruit red. A top choice with lamb.
