Domaine Jean Chartron Rully Montmorin Blanc 2023
Rully AOC
Loading...
From a single plot in Rully, barrel-fermented (10% new) and lees-aged, there’s a touch more richness to this than the Bourgogne Blanc. The ripe, generous fruit is balanced by freshness and minerality on a long finish. A smart buy from Jean-Michel.

The Wine
The history of the Chartron family is closely entwined with that of Puligny-Montrachet. Established in 1859, the estate has been cared for by five generations – each one extending and improving the immaculate vineyards. Our 60-year friendship gives us access to some very fine parcels, especially today when the reputation of this historic Puligny name has soared, with Neal Martin favourably comparing the wines to those of Comtes-Lafron and Leflaive. Montmorin is a 3-hectare plot in Rully in the Côte Châlonnaise, a region known for its impressive value. Fermented in barrel, just 10% of those new, it has pretty ripe stone fruit, floral notes and creaminess with a tight core of minerality. Serve cool with fine seafood.
