With its explosive grapefruit aromas and gorgeous, ‘more please’ drinkability, Granger Bay is a top choice for New World Sauvignon fans. A great example of why the Cape is developing a glowing reputation for crisp, punchy whites. Excellent value too!

The Wine
This terrific Sauvignon Blanc is grown on the slopes of the Western Cape overlooking Granger Bay towards Cape Town. Thys Louw is the sixth generation of his family to make wine in the area, at Diemersdal. He took over from his father, award winning winemaker Tienie Louw, in 2005. After his studies Thys gained valuable wine experience in Germany’s Rhine region then worked with renowned cellar master Hermann Kirschbaum at South Africa’s Buitenverwachting estate. Style-wise the wine sits midway between the Loire and New Zealand with lovely ripeness and elegance and lots of green citrusy aromas. It’s a most refreshing apéritif and goes well with a variety of dishes. Thys recommends you enjoy a glass with sea bass or barbecued swordfish skewers.
